Description: Camp Moshava Ennismore (CME) is a co-ed, Jewish Orthodox summer camp in Ennismore, Ont., that was established in 1959. The camp has its head office in Toronto.
CME’s website states: “Our vision is to strengthen the religious Zionist community by educating and nurturing the campers and counselors entrusted to our care each summer to become role models both in Israel and the Diaspora.” The camp includes “Medinat Yisrael,” the State of Israel, as one of its values. It also notes that it promotes the “Bnei Akiva ideals of Am Yisrael b’Eretz Yisrael al pi Torat Yisrael,” which translates to “the Jewish people living in Israel according to the Torah.”
IDF mentions since Oct. 7, 2023: In November 2023, CME’s Instagram page advertised the sale of clothing where the camp would donate one item of clothing to Israeli soldiers and evacuees for every item purchased.
CME also has employed former Israeli soldiers, including lone soldiers, as staff and head staff of its camp. For example, CME’s “Rosh Mosh,” or head counsellor, for summer 2025 was a former lone soldier from the United States who served in the Israeli military from 2019 to at least 2021. Another staffer was Eliav Saban, a former lone soldier from Thornhill, Ont.
In September 2025, CME’s Instagram account posted a photo of a person in Israeli military uniform with the caption: “With immense sadness, we share that Maj. Omri Chai Ben Moshe Z”L fell in battle this morning while bravely defending Am Yisrael in Gaza, at the age of 26. Omri is the husband of former Chanicha and Tzevet member Hadas (Alonim) Ben Moshe, son-in-law of beloved camp Mishpacha Koby and Chagit Alonim, and brother-in-law of Ofir, Yehuda, and Yotam Alonim. Koby, Chagit, and their children have been a cherished part of our Moshava family, serving as Mishpachot from 2009–2023. […] The Moshava community extends our heartfelt condolences to the Ben Moshe and Alonim families.”
